Life Story for Stanley Niemiec Sr.

Stanley  Niemiec Sr.
NIEMIEC – Stanley Sr., 88, Acosta, died Feb. 24, 2012, at home. Born May 4, 1923, in Portage, son of Michael C. and Mary (Shutty) Niemiec. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 53 years, the former Leona M. Moucheron, on Feb. 18, 2000; sons, Michael A., in 2007; and Stanley Jr., in 2010; brothers, John, Frank, Joseph and Anthony; sisters, Kathryn Niemiec and Anna Yokobosky; and infant sister, Hedwig. Survived by children, Kathy, married to Terry Kozuch, Somerset; Anthony, married to Debra Stets, Friedens; and Theresa, married to Ed Mimna; and Matthew, married to Cathy Drummond, both of Somerset; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Cornwell) Niemiec, Kuhntown; and sister, Agnes Witkowski, Niagara Falls, N.Y. Also survived by numerous other relatives and friends, including friend and neighbor, Jerry Johnson. Veteran of World War II. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Central City Local 6410 UMWA and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Retired area coal miner, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at All Saints Chapel, Acosta, the Rev. Father Justin Ratajczak, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery, Ralphton, with military rites accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard. Memorials to In-Touch Hospice, P.O. Box 1173, Somerset, Pa. 15501, would be appreciated.
