Life Story for William L. Ash

William L.  Ash
ASH – William L. Sr., 66, Boswell, died Feb. 15, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 30, 1946, in Somerset, son of Glenn and Ilga (Swank) Ash. Preceded in death by parents; father- and mother-in-law, James “Cecil” and Dorothy (Jones) Truscott; and stepmother-in-law, Vera Donahue-Truscott. Survived by wife of 46 years, the former Judith A. Truscott; children, Sheri, married to Kerry Conn, Jenner Township; William Jr., Boswell; Nicholas, married to Marlania Walker, Jenner Township; and Matthew, at home; and grandchildren, Austin, Ethan and Tristen Ash; and Jason Wiencek. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, Jenner Rod & Gun Club and Boswell Post 461 American Legion. A 1964 graduate of the former Jenner-Boswell High School. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Owner and operator of the former Ash’s Store, Boswell, and Ash’s Floor Covering, Somerset. He was an avid hunter and golfer, and enjoyed watching Steeler games and attending family gatherings. Viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at All Saints Church, Boswell, the Rev. Father Justin A. Ratajczak, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell, with military rites accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard. Memorials to All Saints Parish, 325 Quemahoning St., Boswell, Pa. 15531, would be appreciated.
