Life Story for Walter A. Dedik

DEDIK – Walter A., 86, formerly of Boswell, died July 25, 2014, at Country Manor Living, Jerome. Born Feb. 14, 1928, in Boswell, son of George H. and Elizabeth A. (Miller) Dedik. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Teresa Blucas and Agnes Dedik; and brothers, Steve and George Dedik. Brother of Verna Sendek, Westmont; Virginia, married to Edward Ference, Greensburg; and Robert Dedik, Boswell; and sister-in-law, Gloria (Steve) Dedik, Boswell. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A 1946 graduate of former Boswell High School. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Formerly employed by Ford Motor Co., Cleveland, Ohio. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and former member of Jerome American Legion. Walter was an avid gardener who could make anything grow. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Manor Living and ViaQuest Hospice for the loving care afforded Walt. A viewing will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 409 Main St., Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Church, Boswell, the Rev. Father Martin Cingle, celebrant. Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell, with graveside military rites accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard.
