Life Story for Dorothy I. Eash (Blough)

EASH – Dorothy I. (Blough), 93, Laurel View Village, formerly of Somerset Pike, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jan. 5, 2015, at Laurel View. Born April 19,1921, in Davidsville, daughter of Harry and Lottie (Thomas) Blough. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 50 years, Elmer Eash, on May 29, 1988; brother, Orvin Blough; sisters, Erma Holsopple and Edna Eash-Nofziger; infant twin sisters, Mary and Martha Blough; and close friend, Sem Thomas. Survived by children, Marlin, Hollsopple; Jeanie, married to Richard Osborn, Sturgis, Mich.; Lila, married to Paul Hershberger, Hollsopple; David, married to Sandy (Fronzoli), Woodbine, Md.; Janet, married to Merle Yoder, Royersford; Darlene, married to John Henry, New Castle, Del.; and Shirleen, married to Ellis Kaufman, Thomas Mills; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; brother, Harry B. Blough, married to Betty (Eash), Hershey; sister, Kathryn Fern (Schroch) married to Glenn Berkshire, Harrisonburg, Va.; sister-in-law, Beulah, married to Owen Hershberger, Davidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lifelong member of Blough Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the ladies fellowship. She also attended the Hollsopple Senior Center. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, sewing, oil painting and traveling, having visited all 50 states, Europe, Canada and Mexico. The family would like to thank the staff of Laurel View Village for all their compassionate care. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Blough Mennonite Church, Pastor Eric Lasure and Pastor Wes Yoder, presiding. Interment, church cemetery.
