FRITZ – John D., 74, Jenner Township, Somerset County, died Feb. 16, 2015, at In Touch Hospice House, Somerset. Born June 1, 1940, in Jenner Township, son of Charles A. and Margaret A. (Foreman) Fritz. Preceded in death by parents; infant children, Karen and Paul; sister, Evelyn; and brothers, Charles and Robert. Survived by wife of 50 years, the former Shirley M. Adams; children, David J. Park, and wife, Joan, Pittsburgh; Sharon A., and husband, Timothy Weaver, Windber; and Nancy A. Fritz, and husband, Greg Fancher, Virginia; and grandchildren, Kayla Sarver, Cody Sarver, Tim Surap and Heather Richardson. Brother of Donald, and wife, Beverly, Florida; Ronald, and wife, Pat, Lancaster; and Richard, and wife, Margaret, Florida. Member of Zion Hoffman Evangelical Lutheran Church, UMWA, Jenner Rod & Gun Club and Greater Ferndale Sportsmen’s Club. A 1958 graduate of the former JBJ Joint High School. Retired area coal miner and also retired truck driver for DM Bowman Trucking, Somerset. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Pastor David L.
