Steven F.  Jamieson
JAMIESON – Steven F., 45, Jennerstown, formerly of Jackson, Mich., died unexpectedly May 14, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his wife and son. Born June 28, 1969, in Jackson, Mich., son of Frank Jamieson of Jackson, Mich., and the late Mary (Stamatakis) Jamieson. In addition to his father, he is survived by wife of 16 years, Jennie (Thomas) Jamieson; son, Mason; seven siblings; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Georgia “Sue” Thomas, Jennerstown. A 1987 graduate of Hanover Horton High School, Horton Mich., and a 1991 graduate of the University of Michigan. A veteran of the first Gulf War, Steve served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army Military Intelligence. He retired with the rank of specialist. Steve was a proud member of UA Local 354. He also taught apprentices for the union and felt great pride in sharing his knowledge with his brother pipefitters. An Eagle Scout, Steve volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 533. Under his leadership, two young men achieved their Eagles. “Personally, I would be delighted if there were a life after death, especially if it permitted me to continue to learn about this world and others, if it gave me a chance to discover how history turns out.” – Carl Sagan. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Robert A. Buczak, presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory may be sent to Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
