Irma M. "Tootsie"  Reed (Herr)
REED - Irma M. “Tootsie” (Herr), 94, Stoystown, went home to be with the Lord October 20, 2015 at Meadowview Nursing Center, Berlin. Born January 17, 1921 in Portage. Daughter of Joseph E. Herr and Freda T. (Bruening) Herr-Miller. Preceded in death by parents, husband Dow P. Reed whom she married on February 6, 1941, daughter Betty “B.J.” Friedline, great grandson Jarad Hoar, sisters Margaret Letcher and Betty Spangler and brother Ray Herr. Survived by daughters Beverly married to William Kennedy, Stoystown; Lorrie married to Clyde Ware, Stoystown and Suzanne married to David Alumbaugh, Friedens; son-in-law Robert Friedline, Jennerstown; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. A 1939 graduate of Stoystown High School. Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Jennerstown where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher and for 45 years was church mimeographer. She enjoyed collecting knick-knacks and doing embroidery. Irma was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with children. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Friday with Pastor Gary W. Anderson presiding. Interment Lambertsville Cemetery. Donations in Irma’s memory may be sent to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
