George T.  Vesek
VESEK - George T., 84, Jenners, died April 8, 2016, at In Touch Hospice House, Somerset. Born May 8, 1931, in Jenners, son of George and Anna (Pishko) Vesek. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Georgiann, in 1985; son-in-law, Robert Long, in 2003; and sister, Dolores, and her husband, Walter Dutkofski. Survived by wife of 57 years, the former Assunta "Sue" Cozzella; children, Anna, and husband, Joe Dabbs, Jennerstown; Mike, Boswell; Tina, and husband, Randy Beistel, Somerset; and Michelle Long, Jenner Crossroads; grandchildren, Jennifer Croyle; Joey Dabbs; Joshua and Jordan Beistel; and Lauren, Lindsay and Luke Long; great-grandchildren, Gage and Zachary Schaut; and sister, Rose Marie, and husband, Raymond Metzgar, Buffalo, N.Y. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Retired U.S. Navy veteran with 20 years of service on ships and submarines. He also spent about 10 years in the Navy Reserve. Retired in 1992, after 24 years, as a machinist for the Elliot Co., Jeannette, Pa. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and lifetime member of Jenner Rod & Gun Club. George loved his family, gardening, cooking for his family and playing the lottery. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Church, Boswell, the Rev. Father Daniel O'Neill, celebrant. Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell. Graveside military rites will be accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard. Memorials to In Touch Hospice House, P.O. Box 1173, Somerset, Pa. 15501, would be appreciated.
