Joseph D.  Paterson
PATERSON - Joseph D., DDS, 91, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Ebensburg, died May 20, 2016 at Laurel View Village. Born August 29, 1924 in Vandergrift. The son of Alexander B. and Olive G. (Espy) Paterson. Preceded in death by parents, son Gary and sister Joanne Barnett. Survived by wife of 67 years Isabel G. (Graham) Paterson; son Alexander G. Paterson, MD and wife Susanne, Laughlintown; daughter Sandra G. Boyles, Norcross, GA; grandchildren Kelly Elias; Alexandra and Ian Paterson; Tyler and Jordan Paterson; Bryan Joseph Boyles; Kristen Smith and Kerry Boyles, great grandchildren Lily Elias and Finley Paterson; sister Barbara Collier, Toledo, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1942 graduate of Vandergrift High School. He received his BS and DDS from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1951. A U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Practiced dentistry in Ebensburg from 1953 to 2001. Member of Ebensburg Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Trustee. A life member of the VFW. Past Master and past District Deputy Grand Master of Summit Lodge 312 F&AM, Ebensburg. He enjoyed telling jokes, visiting libraries, golfing and cross country skiing. At Joseph’s request there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Ebensburg Public Library, 225 W.
