WALAT-Catherine “Kay” (Ewanitsko), 94, formerly of Boswell, died May 25, 2016 at the home of son, Bill, in Suffolk, Virginia. Born October 14, 1921 in Jerome. Daughter of Michael and Agnes (Thomashosky) Ewanitsko. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 58 years and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II, Walter W., November 5, 2008; sisters, Dorothy Sopich and Millie Sesack; brothers, John and Joseph Ewanitsko and one infant daughter. Survived by sons, David, married to Evelyn Rager, Davidsville, and Bill, married to Nancy Lee Gifford, Suffolk, Virginia; granddaughter, Suzanne, married to Bart Jones, Portsmouth, Virginia,; grandson, Travis Walat, Washington, D.C.; great granddaughter “Miss Shelby”; sister, Agnes Graham, Somerset, and numerous nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania Virginia and Tennessee. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish. Kay was a governess for a wealthy Jewish family in New York City from 1938 until 1949. Following her marriage to Walter, Kay was like a country girl version of June Clever on the 1960’s T.V. show; the perfect mom and wife. Viewing will be held from 6-8PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for deceased will be held Sunday evening. (No visitation Monday) Funeral Mass 11AM Tuesday at All Saints Church, Boswell, Rev. Monsg. Samuel J. Tomaselli, Celebrant. Committal St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
