FRIEDLINE – Charles Donald “Don”, 85, Jennerstown, died August 21, 2016 at his home. Born March 31, 1931 in Sipesville. Son of Webster and Hallie (Kalp) Friedline. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 55 years Peggy A. (Patrick) Friedline on May 10, 2011 and sisters Ruth Peterson, Gladys Rothfuss and Ethel Rayman and brother Kenneth Friedline. Survived by children Gary married to Debbie (Mock) Friedline, Somerset Pike; Blair Friedline, Somerset and Pamela married to Eric Herwig, Somerset; grandchildren Breton Friedline and Tyler Herwig; sisters-in-law Kathleen Friedline, Somerset and Betty Manges-Oster, Somerset. A 1949 graduate of Somerset High School. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired welder for Bethlehem Steel Car Shop, Johnstown and school bus driver for Griffith Transportation. Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Don was an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports, auto racing, traveling and birdwatching. The family would like to thank Don’s caregivers for all their kindness and compassion which allowed him to remain at home in his final years. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday with Rev. Gary W. Anderson presiding. Interment Bethany United Methodist Cemetery with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard.
