HOFFMAN – Kenneth R., 77, Hollsopple, died September 17, 2016 at his home. Born November 6, 1938 in Hollsopple. Son of Joseph and Thelma (Cubbage) Hoffman. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 45 years Opal Jean (Lehman) Hoffman on October 26, 2005; brothers Leonard and Joseph Hoffman; sister Alice Orris and sister-in-law Minnie Hoffman. Survived by daughters Sheila Hoffman, Hollsopple; Wanda Rager, Hollsopple and Tressa married to Jim Szala, Davidsville; grandchilden Maxwell and Mason Rager and Brooke Szala; sisters Ann married to John Lubas, Tire Hill and Gloria Jean married to John McGowan, Stephens City, VA ; brother Willard Hoffman, Hollsopple; special niece Laura Boncoski, Moonlite Park; numerous other nieces and nephews and his dog and best friend Sarge. A U.S. Army veteran. Retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co. Member of 1st Battalion 103D Armor, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard Company C; UMWA and the “Pike Inn Breakfast Club”. An avid hunter and fisherman. Ken especially enjoyed trips to Alaska. Viewing from 5-8PM Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Tuesday with Rev. Guy Myers presiding. Interment Custer Cemetery, Hollsopple with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard.
