Obituary for Mary Jane Lape (Mimna)
LAPE – Mary Jane (Mimna), 93, Friedens (Jenner Twp.) went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband November 30, 2016 at Somerset Hospital. Born September 11, 1923 in Somerset Township. Daughter of Robert E. and Pearl M. (Yoder) Mimna. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 68 years, Lester A. Lape on February 28, 2014, infant son Alan, brothers James E. and Charles C. Mimna and sisters Virginia Snider and Patty McCall. Survived by daughter Bonnie Lou married to Dale E. Lape, Jenner Township; granddaughters Luwana married to Bruce Williams, Windber and Lucinda married to Chris Furry, Mt. Crawford, VA; great-grandson Seth Furry; 3 step-great grandsons and 6 step-great-great grandchildren. Member of Somerset Alliance Church. Along with her husband Lester, owned and operated a dairy farm for 33 years. She also loved to sew and quilt, tend her garden and preserve the various vegetables she had grown. Family time and memories were most important to Mary Jane. Viewing from 2PM until time of service 4PM Sunday at Somerset Alliance Church with Pastor Don Robson presiding. Interment Casebeer Lutheran Cemetery. Flower deliveries should be sent directly to the church. Donations may be sent to Somerset Alliance Church, 708 Stoystown Rd., Somerset, PA 15501.
