KOONTZ - Ralph D. “Butch”, 74, Crab Orchard, KY, formerly of Jerome, died December 26, 2016 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Born August 8, 1942 in Johnstown. Son of Ralph E. and Etta (Oakman) Koontz. Preceded in death by parents and brother Lloyd Oakman. Survived by wife of 54 years Joan R. (Harmon) Koontz; sons Mark and wife Linda, Jerome and Douglas and wife Sarah, Crab Orchard, KY; grandchildren Megan, Samuel and Katie; sister Barbara Emerick, Boswell and brother Charles married to former Karen Stayrook, Thomas Mills. Ralph was employed for several waste management companies and was a retired light mechanic and laborer for Berkey Excavating, Boswell. He attended St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Boswell.
