Obituary for Beverly Jean Thomas (Hershberger)

THOMAS – Beverly Jean (Hershberger), 86, Thomas Mills, died February 7, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Preceded in death by mother, Alice Hershberger; husband of nearly 67 years, L. Merle Thomas on February 20, 2016, who was a fifth generation owner of Thomas Feed Mill; great-grandson Alexander Thomas and brother Dalmain Hershberger and his wife Faye. Survived by children, Carle Joan, married to Donald Allen, Thomas Mills; Daniel G., married to Faith (Westerfield) Thomas, Thomas Mills; Karen, married to Steven Addleman, Somerset; and Patricia, married to Jeff Pauza, Shelburne, Vt.; grandchildren, Joseph Allen, and wife, Lori (Rose); Jason Thomas, and wife, Debra (Hoffer); Laura Thomas; Lisa (Thomas), married to Shawn Sefick; Elizabeth (Addleman) Diesel; Mark and Andrew Addleman; and Thomas, Gregory and Andrea Pauza; great-grandchildren, Noah and Hannah Allen; Evan and Julia Thomas; Lucas Turner; and Evelyn and Miles Diesel and twin sister Beatrice Joan widow of Charles Georg. A graduate of former Hooversville High School. Member of Benscreek and St. David’s Evangelical Lutheran Churches, where she was a past council member of St. David’s. Past active member of Johnstown Chapter 183, Order of Eastern Star and Conemaugh Township Election Board. Also a former scout leader and manager of the Printing Office at U.P.J. She was a great cook and caregiver to her family. The family appreciates the tremendous love and care given to Jean at the Lutheran Home at Johnstown. A private viewing and service will be held.
