Obituary for Dorcas J. Garlesky (Reckner)
GARLESKY – Dorcas J. (Reckner), 75, Hollsopple, unexpectedly went to be with the angels April 22, 2017 at her home. Born June 26, 1941 in Jerome. Daughter of Harry and Ada (Shroyer) Reckner. Preceded in death by parents, brothers James and Albert “Tub” Reckner and sister Naomi Oaks. Survived by husband of 55 years James “Jesse”; sons James married to Christine (Plachy), Davidsville and Michael, Windber; grandchildren Michael Garlesky married to Carrie (Mitchell), Windber and Jessica Garlesky, Davidsville; great-granddaughter Brooke Garlesky; sisters Euldean Shields, Windber; Donna married to Warren “Bussie” Shaffer, Hooversville and Janice Lint, Jerome and numerous nieces and nephews. A retired seamstress for former J.C. & Me, Garment Factory, Hollsopple. Member of former Jerome Church of the Nazarene and currently New Life Church of the Nazarene, Boswell. Dorcas enjoyed playing bingo and making jewelry. She always gave of herself and delighted in making other people happy. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. A memorial service will be held 11AM Wednesday at New Life Church of the Nazarene, Boswell with Pastor Nathan P. Zipfel presiding. Donations in Dorcas’ memory may be sent to New Life Church of the Nazarene, 878 Main St., Boswell, PA 15531.
