Doris B.  Moumgis (Schielke)
MOUMGIS - Doris B. (Schielke), 89, Country Manor Living, Jerome, formerly of Jennerstown, died May 17, 2017 at Country Manor. Born May 3, 1928 in West Windsor, NJ. Daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Schultz) Schielke. Survived by cousins, Ethel (Schielke) Schach, Elaine (Schielke) Walton and Dale Schielke; close friend Tom Grote, Jennerstown and his son Matthew, Westmont. Doris was a graduate of Princeton High School, Princeton, NJ. Former representative for World Book Encyclopedia. She also ran her own maid service business. A volunteer for the Somerset State Corrections Institution where she taught inmates how to read and write. In 2000, she was honored by the state of Pennsylvania as Corrections System Volunteer of the Year. She also enjoyed reading and tending to her flower garden. Before she became ill, Doris was an active member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. A memorial service will be held 11AM Friday, May 26 at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Kaltenbaugh and Pastor James Farrar presiding, followed by a luncheon and a time of fellowship. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Boswell. In lieu of flowers donations in Doris’ memory may be sent to Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 185, Jennerstown, PA 15547.
