HARMON - Margaretta J. (Shortt), 89, Jerome, died May 24, 2017 at The Patriot. Born June 15, 1927 in Jerome. Daughter of Bernard and Alice (Adams) Shortt. Preceded in death by parents and brother Gerald. Survived by husband of 70 years Clarence C. Harmon; children Cheryle J. married to Eric Scheppan, Statesville, NC; Rosalie G. married to Larry Emerick, Stoystown; Jeffrey B. and wife Kimberly, Vandergrift and Richard C. and wife Phyllis, Mechanicsburg; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; brother Donald and wife Regina, Hampton, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1945 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. Employee of former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory in Boswell and Jerome. Retired employee of former Bestform, Inc. in Windber and Johnstown. Member of former Jerome Evangelical Lutheran Church and St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boswell. Margaretta enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables from her garden. She also liked crocheting and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Special thanks to the staff of The Patriot in Somerset for their care of Margaretta. At her request there will be a private family viewing and service. Interment Maple Spring Cemetery, Jerome. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to St. Andrew’s Church, 500 Main Street, Boswell, PA 15531. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville.
