THOMAS - Wade E., 82, Hollsopple, passed away peacefully August 17, 2017 at his home. Born December 1, 1934 in Hollsopple. Son of Chester G., Sr. and Myrabelle (Radcliffe) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents, granddaughter Katrina Thomas, great grandson Jamie Kniss and an infant sister. Survived by wife of 64 years Linda L. (Smith) Thomas; children Mark G. Thomas, Gallitzen; JoAnn married to David Beaudreau, Pittsburgh and Daniel married to Patricia (Szapka) Thomas, Davidsville; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandson; brothers Millard “Butch” married to Jean (Lohr) Thomas, Hooversville and Chester G., Jr. “Chet” married to Lizzeth (Rosa) Thomas, Honduras and daughter-in-law Doris Thomas, Boswell. A 1952 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. A graduate of University of Pittsburgh. Former Managing Editor of Johnstown-Tribune Democrat and retired Managing Editor for the Somerset Daily American. Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Hollsopple where he served as Sunday school teacher and cemetery association member. Also a member of Conemaugh Township Historical Society. In his spare time, Wade enjoyed hunting and fishing. Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Funeral service 11AM Monday at Maple Spring Church with Rev. Guy Myers presiding. Inurnment Maple Spring Cemetery.
