LYBARGER – Dorothy M. (Valentine), 88, Hollsopple (Soap Hollow) was called home February 2, 2018 at Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown. Born June 4, 1929 in Jerome. Daughter of Raymond and Sadie (Ohler) Valentine. Preceded in death by daughter-in-law Diane (Dello) Lybarger and brothers Robert and Raymond Valentine. Survived by husband of 69 years R. George Lybarger, whom she married at Tire Hill Church of the Brethren on August 8, 1948; children Pam Lybarger, Johnstown; Mary Ellen married to Jeff Hawkins; Jeff and companion Paula Blair and Cindy married to Evan Bill Barr, all of Hollsopple; grandchildren Zachary Hawkins (Amy), Heather Rigby (Kenneth), Holly Huffman (David), Monica Hawkins, Jeremy Gates (Cassandra), Nathan Barr (fiance’ Brittany), Nichele Barr (fiance’ Matt) and Logan Barr; great-grandchildren Kale, Shane, Keller, Casey, Marley, Tristen, Conner, Clayton, Jacob, Althea, Alexis, Damien and Abbey; sister Phyllis Gregory, Johnstown and sisters-in-law Esther Baumgardner, Johnstown and Sondra Lybarger, Tennessee. A 1947 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. Active member of Tire Hill Church of the Brethren where she was a Prayer Warrior and crocheted hats for Patchwork and Prayer Ministries and prayer shawls for cancer patients. Along with her husband, she served as Deacon for over 53 years. “Mom is the love of dad’s life.” The family would like to thank the staff of Arbutus Park Manor and Windber Hospice for the kindness and care given to Dorothy. Thank you also to family, friends and neighbors for concerns and prayers during her illness. God bless each of you. At her request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held 2PM Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Tire Hill Church of the Brethren. Inurnment Maple Spring Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville.
