Obituary for Esther L. Turk (Johns)

TURK – Esther L. (Johns), 91, went home to with the Lord February 17, 2018 at her home in Windber. Born September 19, 1926 in Hillsboro. Daughter of Joseph R. and Emma (Rummel) Johns. Preceded in death by parents; husband Sylvester J. Turk and daughter Connie L. Turk. She was the last surviving and youngest member of her family of 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Survived by daughters Jo Ann Turk (Larry Shank), Pittsburgh and Brenda S. Weible (Billy Orbin), with whom Esther resided; grandchildren Nikki White, Windber; Justin Weible, Windber and Corey Weible (Robyn), Greensburg; great-granddaughter and the love of her life Ashton Grace White and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired employee of Bestform Factory, Windber. Lifelong member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Hooversville. Esther enjoyed cooking and baking and devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Viewing from 2-8PM Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10AM until time of service 11AM Friday at the Ridge Church of the Brethren with Pastor Frank Young presiding. A private inurnment will be held at Berkey Cemetery, Windber at a later date.
