Obituary for Wilma Claire Eash (Berkey)

EASH – Wilma Claire (Berkey), 90, Hollsopple, passed away at her home on July 13, 2018. Born November 11, 1927 in Johnstown. Daughter of Arthur and Carrie (Seese) Berkey. Preceded in death by sisters Lois Zimmerman and Ruth Keim and brother Charles Berkey. Survived by loving husband of 67 years Rev. John E. Eash; daughters Cecile (Ed) Hyjurick, Uniontown; Adrienne (Ron) Punako, Hollsopple; Johanna (Galen) Blough, Johnstown and Jessica (Don) Reto, Rochester, NY; grandchildren Scott Thomas, Carrie Thomas Carlson, Ron Punako, Matt Punako, Nicole Moser, Mike Hyjurick, Julia Sweeney, Kathy Tatelbaum and Mario Reto; 9 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Laurence (Bernice) Eash, York; sisters-in-law Arbutus Blough, Hollsopple and Violette Eash, Windber and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A 1945 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. Wilma devoted her life to being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a partner with her husband in various church activities at local, district and national levels, especially in music ministries. Her hobbies included bird watching, sewing, knitting and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. The family would like to thank Windber Hospice for all their care and support. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10AM until time of service 11AM Tuesday at Hooversville Church of the Brethren with Pastor Stanley Pisarski and Pastor Horace Derr presiding. Interment Maple Spring Cemetery, Jerome.
