VOLK – Lena Belle (Cable), 94, Lutheran Home at Johnstown, formerly of Boswell, died Easter morning, April 4, 2010, at the home. Born Sept. 24, 1915, in Jerome, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Holsopple) Cable. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Herbert Justus Volk on Jan. 1, 1958; sons-in-law, Terry Bucklen and Bill Merritt; granddaughter, Gayle Merritt; sisters, Irene Martin, Agnes Roth and Marie Moschgat; and brothers, Clarence, George, Walter “Bud” and Bill. Survived by children, Herbert Jay, married to Connie Friedline, Boswell; Judith Ann Bucklen-Merritt, New Florence; and Roger Eugene, married to Debra Cramer, Jenner Township; grandchildren, Michael Volk, and wife, Debra; Kevin Volk, and wife, Kendra; Steven Volk; Todd Bucklen, and wife, Lorrie; Gwen (Bucklen) Vogt, and husband, John; J. Merritt; Bradley Volk; and Sarah Volk; great-grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Hannah, Alex, Holly, Josh, Kaitlyn, Max, Ben and Eli; and great-great-grandchild, Morgan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boswell; Knotty Ladies Quilting Group; and the former LCW. Also a member of “Unite Here,” formerly of ILGWU. Retired from the former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory. Viewing will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Pastor Larry C. Hoover, officiating.
