Born Nov. 8, 1921, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, daughter of Harry and Luella (Kaufman) Berkey. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Charles J., on Nov. 6, 2008; grandson, James Brown; brothers, John, Willard, Robert and Donald Berkey; and sister, Sara Klochak. Survived by children, Patricia L., married to Carl Brown, Somerset; Donald C., married to the former Maureen Urban, Somerset Pike; Dennis J., married to the former Michele Anderson, Sun City, S.C.; John R., married to the former Mary Kay Conley, Duncansville; and the Rev. Sara A., married to the Rev. Paul Gausmann, York; grandchildren, Steven, Patrick, Casey, Katie, Beth, Peter, Kelly, Tim, William and Laura; and seven great-grandchildren. Retired clerk for JC Penney Department Store, Richland. Member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Richland. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastors Carol and Scott Custead, presiding. Interment, Mount Zion Cemetery.
