Condolence: Our sympathy to Darcy and to Jack and BillieSue.

Condolence: My heart is saddened at the news of the death of another cousin. Here is my strong memory of my cousin Bob:
He was a handsome boy at Shade High School, and on the football team. I remember when I heard the news he had left school to join up and go to the Korean War. My dad, a teacher at Shade and a veteran himself, was very proud of Bob. But we were all concerned for his safety, of course. Eventually the news came that he had been seriously wounded,as witnessed in the obituary's report of the the purple hearts he received. When Bob came home on furlough, we all went to see him at a family gathering. What a mixture of pride and sorrow! Pride in his service to country, sadness that he had suffered injury to his young body.
My condolences are sent to Darcy, his daughter and to his brother Jack and sister Billie Sue.
