Life Story for W. Earl Adams

W. Earl  Adams
ADAMS – W. Earl, 74, Jerome, our beloved husband, dad, grandfather, brother and friend, went to be with the Lord Dec. 27, 2013, at home in the loving presence of his family. Born June 19, 1939, in Jennerstown, son of Willis E. and Ada P. (Gindlesperger) Adams. Preceded in death by parents and brother, William Lee Adams. Survived by loving wife of 52 1/2 years, the former Carolyn DeLaura; loving daughter, Brenda Lynn, married to Tony Tazza, Jenner Township; loving son, Wayne E. Adams, married to Barbara L. Stevanus, Davidsville; and loving and precious grandson, Connor Wayne Adams. Brother of Ada Faye Sargent, Shirley Fritz, June Diehl and Kaye Maust. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A 1958 graduate of the former JBJ Joint High School. He was an active member of Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship, where he was involved with mission work, having traveled to Lima, Peru, for nine years, where he helped create a feeding and education center for children. Earl’s former employers include the Fetterolf Group, Beitzel Corp. and retired eight years from Pinnacle Materials. He was an avid outdoorsman his entire life and longtime member of Jenner Community Sportsman Association, where he greatly enjoyed every project he was involved with. He was former Pennsylvania Hunter-Trapper education instructor for more than 40 years. Lifelong member of NRA. Earl took great pleasure in developing and guiding a mission that sponsored bear hunts to Ontario, Canada, for Purple Heart veterans. He raised funds for this project through local veterans and sportsmen’s groups and individual donors. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship, Richland Township, Pastors Gary L. Tustin, James Gay and Michael A. Dunlap, officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery, near Jerome. In lieu of flowers, memorials to In-Touch Hospice in Somerset or North Star Outreach Center in Boswell would be appreciated.
