ZOODIE - James J. “Coal Miner” , 61, Stoystown, went to be with the Lord, January 31, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 12, 1953, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Preceded in death by father, Joseph J. Zoodie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Dorothy (Unger) Pugh. Survived by mother, Dawn (Hackett) Zoodie, Gray; wife of 36 years, Karen L. (Pugh) Zoodie; son, Jimmy C. Zoodie, married to Erica (Kough), Johnstown; grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart, T.J., Cheyenne and Christopher Zoodie. Beloved brother of Debbie, married to Gary Carothers, Gray, William, married to Bev (Louser), Palmyra, John, married to JoAnn (Kennel), Sipesville, Jean, married to George Mountford, Indian Lake, and Joseph, married to Cindy (Barndt), Gray. Also survived by brother-in-law and best friend, Chuck Pugh, married to Diane (Zablotney), Champion, brother-in-law, Terry Pugh and girlfriend, Melanie Miller, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Dottie Marie Pugh, Gray, whom he loved like another sister; beloved aunt, Jeanette Calderone and her friend, Ricky Parson, Boswell; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and best friends for many years, Bob McLaughlin, Maryland, and Jason Pollard and his family, Davidsville. Jim was a 1971 graduate of North Star High School. He was employed as a coal miner for many years at various local mines. A truck driver for Bowman Trucking before becoming an independent truck driver for more than 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working on cars. He also liked to aggravate his family but was still a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Friends received from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service, 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, with Pastor Traci Bowman presiding.
