THOMAS – Robert H., 88, Hollsopple, died unexpectedly April 28, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 6, 1928 in Hollsopple in the same home in which he currently resided. Son of Edward A. and Estella (Holsopple) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 57 years Ruth A. “Dolly” (Mills) Thomas on June 21, 2014; son Daniel and sisters Goldie and Lillian Thomas; Zetta Deal and June Kaufman. Survived by children, Bonnie L., married to James Mikula, Hollsopple and Edward Thomas, Hollsopple; grandchildren, Justin Thomas and Wendy; Megin Thomas; and Jennifer married to Shane Bimeal; great-grandchildren Amber; Dakota; Ryan and Travis Thomas; Kaylin and Sarah Weyand and Dylan Bimeal. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. Bob was a humble man who didn’t like to draw attention to himself. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed “tormenting” people. A private service will be held. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. Interment Custer Cemetery, Hollsopple with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard.
