CABLE - Lois I. (Harshberger), 86, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Tire Hill, passed away suddenly December 12, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born October 2, 1931 in Soap Hollow. Daughter of Erwin L. and Trella (Eash) Harshberger. Preceded in death by parents, sister Mildred Blucas and brother Paul Harshberger. Survived by husband of nearly 66 years, James A. Cable; children Susan married to Marvin Yoder, Broadway, VA; Debra married to Wendell Histand, Perkasie; Gregory married to Carole (Golden), Davidsville and Mark married to Wendy (Miller), Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Sister of Dorothy Ramos, Pittsburgh; Lester “Pete” Harshberger married to Lila (Shetler), Davidsville; Martha Helmuth, Goshen, IN; Mary Peachey, Goshen, IN; David Harshberger married to Joyce (Kuhn), Boswell and Carol Mellinger, Ft. Wayne, IN. A 1949 graduate of Johnstown Mennonite School. Member of Kaufman Mennonite Church where she sang with the “Sounds of Grace”. Lois enjoyed reading, cooking, NASCAR and listening to southern gospel music. Friends received from 2PM until time of service 3PM Sunday, December 31st at Kaufman Mennonite Church with Pastor Wes Yoder presiding. A private interment will be held at Kaufman Cemetery, Davidsville. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’ memory may be sent to Kaufman Mennonite Church, 916 Miller Picking Road, Davidsville, PA 15928.
