HOLSOPPLE – Dorothy E. (Warren), 95, formerly of Somerset, died January 1, 2018 at Meadowview Nursing Center, Berlin. Born February 13, 1922 in Listie. Daughter of Lester Elias and Joanna (Shultz) Warren. Preceded in death by parents, husband Theodore T. on November 4, 2000, sister Lois Myers and brother Richard Warren. Survived by daughter Mary E. married to Kevin Urban, Myrtle Point, OR; granddaughter Jordan Pickard and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1939 graduate of Berlin High School and a graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII having served in the Army Nurse Corp. as a First Lieutenant. A former Registered Nurse at Somerset Hospital and Conemaugh Valley Hospital, Johnstown. Member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, Gray; Somerset Post 554 VFW and Silver Sneakers, Somerset where she walked a 5K when she was 87 years old. A volunteer for RSVP at Friedens Elementary School. Dorothy enjoyed helping her husband on their farm, doing crossword puzzles and board puzzles; canning vegetables; gardening; knitting and crocheting, even knitting hats for the nursery at Somerset Hospital. Viewing from 10AM until time of service noon Tuesday, January 9 at Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, Gray with Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer and Rev. Bruce Ashlock presiding. Interment Beam Cemetery with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Boswell.
