HARRISON – Oden G. “Odie”, 87, Davidsville, died January 18, 2018 at Windber Hospice. Born July 14, 1930 in Johnstown. Son of Russell and Ruth (Bassett) Harrison. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Phyllis Hunt, Neva Owens and Rhoda Bouch and brother Jim. Survived by wife of 61 years Margaret L. “Peggy” (Alwine); children Robert A. “Bob” married to Lorie (Singer), Johnstown; Jan M. married to Tom Dworetsky, Dayton, OH and William S. “Bill” married to Laura (Simpson), Pittsburgh; grandchildren Stephen, Kelcy, Megan and husband Kevin, Garrett, Arielle, Dalton and Eliza and great-grandchildren Portia and Tatum. Brother of Verda Terndrup, Ebensburg; Art and wife Joyce; Allan and wife Arlene; Lynn and wife Mary Jane; Lois Johns and Jack and wife Carol, all of Johnstown. Also survived by sister-in-law Marylyn married to Vernon Harrison, Johnstown and their sons David and Mark and his wife Linda and their daughter Haley and numerous nieces and nephews. A graduate of Ferndale High School. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Oden held many jobs over the years but retired from Emglo, Inc., Johnstown. Lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Johnstown and attended West Hills Community Church. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed tinkering around and being outdoors. He was a devoted family man who always put others before himself. Viewing from 2-6PM Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Monday with Pastor David Streets presiding. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery with military honors by Menoher Post 155 VFW. Donations in Oden’s memory may be sent to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
