Condolences

Condolence From: Joshua Weaver
Condolence: I always enjoyed visiting and spending time with uncle Alf. After he moved to Laurel View I asked him what he did with all his free time now, he said I serve coffee to the elderly. He had a great laugh and sense of humor. He would always look for me at church just to say hi and ask how I was doing. I extend my condolences to Allan and his family. The reunions won't be the same without him.

Condolence: Alan, I have a lot of great memories of your dad and mom at the river on Big Bend Beach. Our fathers were close friends, fishing partners and pinochle opponents on friday nights. Alfie was a very talented man and always willing to help when there was a job to do. I'll never forget his smile and laugh. I'm very sorry for your loss. Mike

Condolence: Alf came into my life as my step-grandfather when I was a teenager. I remember him as always having a smile, a story to tell, and willing and able to engage in conversation. He was talented in refurbishing furniture. He took several wooden pieces and refinished them for me. When I moved to Harrison he was there to help with that move. Gabe always enjoyed his interactions with Alf as well. He fit right in to our family and we were honored and bettered by having him in our life. Condolences to all during this time of sorrow and celebration of his life.

Condolence: When I was little, my dad told me that my grandpa would listen to the grass grow. If anyone saw his yard in Boswell, you'd probably believe it. Immaculate and carefully maintained. He always had the most perfectly pressed pants and the shiniest shoes. It was endearing to me, even now. Some of my favorite memories of him include his big laugh, his perfect pancakes, the fires he built so we could have s'mores, his seasonal battle with chipmunks, how he came to every Grandparents' Day event when I was in school, and when he took me on my first rollercoaster at Idlewild. He had a heart as big as his laugh and a smile that could light up a room. I'll miss him very much but I'm so lucky to be his granddaughter.

Condolence: Pappy was a wonderful grandfather to me and one of my hero’s. He was a patriot and a man I admire very much. He was a godly man and lived a good life . The Lord blessed him with a very long life and My father always looked up to him as most sons look up to there fathers . And now Dad and Pappy are both in the presence of the Almighty. Although he his gone from this Earth and he will be missed greatly . Alfred Weaver is in a far better place he had fought the good fight and he kept the faith .

Condolence: Alan and Barbara and family,
We have such happy memories of Uncle Alf. He always had a big smile, great laugh and dressed really sharp. He loved life and had numerous friends. It was always great listening to his stories. When visiting mom at theVillage, Uncle Alf would play games with us, go to Shaffer’s for ice cream and then we would go to church at Kaufman Mennonite. We often would eat meals together and we enjoyed spending time with him. We will miss him but know that someday we will see Uncle Alf and Aunt Helen again.

Condolence: Alan and family,
I have so many wonderful memories of your dad, Alfred. He was always a larger-than-life presence in my childhood. Humorous, kind and a story-telling master, he was someone I loved being around. It was only later, as an adult, that I truly realized what a remarkable person he was. I will miss him deeply.
You are in my thoughts, Wunda

Condolence From: Becky Keim
Condolence: Alan and family, When I think of Alf I have many memories. He as always smartly dressed and had a smile on his face. His laugh was contagious and he was generous with his time and help. The Carman Keim family appreciated how he and Aunt Helen took our folks in after the fire along with Aunt Mary for a few weeks. To know that they were cared for at such a difficult time was a blessing, especially when we were no longer close by to be of immediate help. Life was good at the Village for all the Keim's and it was good that they had each other to visit with and share their food, fun and time with along with rides to and from appointments. Alf took nice care of helping mom get back and forth to church, doctors and other outings. I will miss him and our drives back and forth from Davidsville to Lancaster. It was fun to listen to his road trip stories from the past. I will be praying for you all at this time and forward.

Condolence: Phil & I have such fond memories of Helen & Alf. When we visited Laurelview, Uncle Alf would often eat his meals with our family. He always had a smile and we always enjoyed game nights. After the fire, we were always grateful for taking Mom & Dad in immediately after the fire. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolence From: Ellen and Doug Leckey
Condolence: To Alan and Barb, so sorry to hear of Uncle Alf's passing. He would come and visit at my mom's on a Sunday when the weather was nice and he was able to drive. He knew we got together there to visit so he would drive over and he would bring a snack with him, usually chips and salsa. He loved salsa. He always had some really good stories. I will miss him stopping and saying hello as he passed in the hallway at Laurel View. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Your cousin Ellen and Doug
