EWING – Donald C., 84, died March 7, 2018 at his home. Born December 19, 1933 in Jerome. Son of Oliver L. and Cora (Emerick) Ewing. Preceded in death by parents; wife Barbara J. (Hobba) Ewing; brothers Robert, Lewis and Oliver Ewing and grandson Andrew Hawkes. Survived by children Jeffrey and wife Cindy, Chesapeake, VA; Bobbi married to Todd Ogren, Cape Coral, FL and Donald, II and wife Laurie, Tobyhanna; grandchildren Jennifer, Patricia and Joseph; 4 great grandchildren; sisters Evelyn Balogh, Tarpon Springs, FL and Patricia married to Ed Gowarty, Jerome; sister-in-law Lucy Ewing, Jerome; brother-in-law Robert Hobba, Mineral Point and numerous nieces and nephews including special nephew Bob Ewing and wife Sharon, Jerome. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War having served in the 82nd Airborne. He marched in President Eisenhower’s inaugural parade. Former bartender, bellhop and mink farmer. Retired welder for Pratt & Whitney Co. in Connecticut having retired in 1995. Member of Jerome Post 802 American Legion. Don enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Viewing from 5-8PM Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville where a service will be held 11AM Saturday with Pastor David Streets presiding.
