Helen A.  Kerch (Zurvensky)
KERCH – Helen A. (Zurvensky), 94, Carlisle, formerly of Lincoln Township, Somerset County, entered into eternal rest April 14, 2018 at Church of God Nursing Home, Carlisle. Born August 26, 1923 in Acosta. Daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Kaminski) Zurvensky and step-father Michael Leshok. Also preceded in death by husband Frank Kerch, Jr.; infant son Stephen Kerch; son Michael Albin; daughter Sandra D. Blust, with whom she resided for many years; brothers Johnnie and Andrew Zurvensky and Albert and Frank Leshok and sister Theresa (Leshok) DeLuca. Survived by son Frank and wife Ginger (Deromedi) Kerch, Shippensburg; grandchildren Allison (Blust) and husband Andrew Zang, Mechanicsburg; Matthew and wife Cailin (Bush) Kerch, Tuscaloosa, AL; Joseph Albin, Germany; Mickey Albin, Myrtle Beach, SC; great-grandchildren Alivia Zang, Mechanicsburg; Anna Kerch, Alabama; Ryan and Dalton Jonas, South Carolina; Joline Albin, Germany; sister Catherine “Kasha” (Leshok) Maraugha and husband William, Boswell; brother-in-law Dominic “Chick” DeLuca, Boswell and several cousins and nieces and nephews. Helen was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg and former member of SS Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Boswell. She worked for Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell for 32 years before her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed reading and gardening and was most happy when spending time with her family and friends. A service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held 10:30AM Saturday, May 19th at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell with Deacon Jay Pyle presiding. Committal St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ralphton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be sent to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, c/o All Saints Parish, 325 Quemahoning St., Boswell, PA 15531.
