Obituary for James A. Naugle

NAUGLE – James A., 87, Davidsville, died June 3, 2018 at Laurel View Village. Born May 26, 1931 in Quemahoning Twp., Somerset Co. Son of Lloyd and Edna (Dempsey) Naugle. Preceded in death by parents and brother Robert Naugle. Survived by wife of 63 years Nancy L. (Kring) Naugle; children Brian J. married to Michele (Thomas) Naugle; Bruce A. Naugle; William E. Naugle and Beverly J. married to Michael Moyer, Sr., all of Davidsville; grandchildren Robert and Joshua Naugle; Emilee Naugle; Haley, Adam and Eric Naugle and Ashley and her fiancé Adam Kopp, Michael, Jr. and Nicole Moyer; sisters Miriam widow of George “Bud” Grazier, Franklin, NC and Janet married to Fred Berzinsky, Johnstown; brother Stanley married to Jean (Berkebile) Naugle, Stoystown and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1949 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. He served as a P.F.C. in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. As a young man he worked on the family dairy farm in Quemahoning Township. Retired employee of Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown Plant with over 35 years of service. He then drove bus for McIlwain Charters & Tours for 10 years. Lifelong member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Davidsville. Jim enjoyed gardening and hunting and was an avid sports fan and former pony league baseball coach. The family would like to thank the staff of Laurel View Village for their kindness and compassion in caring for Jim. Viewing from 3-7PM Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. A funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday in the chapel at Laurel View Village in Davidsville with Pastor Jeffrey L. Bassette presiding. Interment Richland Cemetery.
