DURST – Dawn M. (Peterson), 47, Hollsopple, went home to be with the Lord August 3, 2018 at her residence. Born August 28, 1970 in Somerset. Daughter of Donald “Red” and Glenda Kay (Knupp) Peterson. Preceded in death by father; daughter Abigail Peterson; sister Brenda Jo Spiker and father-in-law Alvin Durst. Survived by mother, Stoystown; husband of 14 years Sonny J. Durst; sisters Chris married to Jerry Adder, Somerset and Holly married to Lloyd Purbaugh, Somerset; brother Brad married to Gina (Fisher) Peterson, Sipesville; stepson Joshua Gorgone, Johnstown; mother-in-law Sadie Heiple, Somerset; sister-in-law Melinda Durst, Acosta; brothers-in-law Randy and Steve Durst, both of New York and Doug Spiker, Somerset; numerous nieces and nephews and her fur baby Bexley. A graduate of North Star High School. A former employee of Green Gables restaurant, Jennerstown and McDonalds restaurant in Somerset. Member of Indian Lake Christian Center. Dawn was a very caring and selfless person who had a great love of children, having been a babysitter for many families over the years. She also served as a longtime nanny for the Marafino and Helmick families. Dawn enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 states. She was a “food artist” who could prepare dishes that were almost too pretty to eat. Viewing from 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main Street, Boswell where a service will be held 11AM Wednesday with Pastor Michael A. Dunlap presiding. Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
