Obituary for Dalton L. "Dal" Cable

CABLE - Dalton L. “Dal”, 82, Troutman, NC, formerly of Davidsville, died August 17, 2018 at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville, NC. Born April 28, 1936, in Johnstown, son of Henry and Nellie (Yoder) Cable. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 45 years, Shirley R. (Howard) Cable who died in 1999; brother Harry; sister, Anna Mary and great grandson Will Lasky. Survived by daughter, Ruth Ann, wife of Stanley Lasky Jr., Troutman, NC; son, Daniel H., married to Regina Hornick, Chester, MD; also, three grandchildren; Jason Lasky, married to Nichole Grove; Justin Lasky, married to Mesha Booker, and Jennifer Lasky; and three great-grandchildren, Roman, Asher, and Eden Lasky; brother Robert and wife Evelyn, Hollsopple and special friend Shelby Bailey. A 1954 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. Dal was employed by Cable Plumbing and Heating for many years and was retired from North Star Auto Parts. He also worked for Mishler Auctions. Dal was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather, known to his great grandchildren as “Pappy Dal”. He was a PIAA basketball referee for over 50 years. He loved officiating games at all levels and made many friends through basketball. Dal was also an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. He loved life and made friends with everyone he met. Dal loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love for God was an inspiration to his family. Friends will be received on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2018 from 10 AM until time of service at noon at Kaufman Mennonite Church with Pastor Keith Yoder presiding. Inurnment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
