HORNER - Rachel P. (Kaufman), 73, formerly of North Fork Dam Road, died December 28, 2018 at The Patriot, Somerset. Born March 12, 1945 in Johnstown. Daughter of Richard J., Sr. and Reda P. (Alwine) Kaufman. Preceded in death by parents and sister-in-law Marilynn (Woy) Kaufman. Survived by daughter Sherri R. married to Ron McGunigale, Jenner Township; former husband Ira W. “Bill” Horner, Jenner Township; grandchildren Cole and Brent McGunigale; sister Verna married to Harvey Horner, Sr., Jenner Township; brothers Richard, Jr. “Junior” married to Deb Fritz, Blairsville; Ellis married to Shirleen Eash, Conemaugh Township and Allen married to Gloria Gindlesperger, Friedens and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graduate of former Johnstown Mennonite School and the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Formerly was the Head Nurse in the hospital psychiatric unit. Member of Thomas Mennonite Church and recently attended Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle. The family greatly thanks The Patriot and Heartland Hospice for Rachel’s care.
