Life Story for John "Jack" Vinosky

VINOSKY – John “Jack” Jr., 74, Shady Hollow Lane, Jenner Township, Somerset County, died Jan. 9, 2010, at Heinz UPMC (VA), Aspinwall. Born March 26, 1935, in Belltown, son of John Sr. and Mary (Burek) Vinosky. Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Mary Smith, in 1986; granddaughter, Natalie Bowser; sister, Alice Goodin; and brothers, Donald and Dennis. Survived by daughter, Christine “Tina,” married to Mark H. Bowser, and son, Charles, both of Boswell; and grandchildren, Angela, Valerie and Mark A. Bowser and Alexis Vinosky. Brother of Betty, married to William J. Williams, Johnstown; Ben, Bill and David, all of Boswell; Ginger, married to Joseph Rock, Dauphin; and Gerald “Doug,” Somerset. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Was a 1954 graduate of former JBJ High School. U.S. Army veteran and member of Everett Post No. 8, American Legion and Boswell Area Historical Society. Retired employee of PennDOT and also worked for former Sheftic Amusement Co. Avid gardener, beekeeper and general handyman. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating. Interment, Beam Cemetery, near Gray. Graveside military service accorded by Somerset County Honor Guard. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
