BARANIAK – Catherine “Katie” (Tasin), 90, Ligonier, formerly of Boswell, died May 5, 2019 at Bethlen Home, Ligonier. Born August 27, 1928 in Buffington Township, Indiana County. Daughter of Silvio and Mary (Mirandola) Tasin. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 61 years, Joseph S. “Skeets” on February 21, 2013, brothers Louis, Joseph, Ernest and Fred Tasin and Frank and Tony Testa. Survived by son James R. married to Luray (Folton) and daughter Linda M. married to John Hemberry, both of Jennerstown; grandchildren Wesley Peterson and fiancé Kellie Liebrecht, Kannapolis, NC and Tessa Peterson, Philadelphia; sister Emma Rizzo, Boswell. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and Silver Sneakers. Retired Floor Girl for former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory. Katie enjoyed spending time at the Boswell Senior Center and with her family, especially her grandchildren. At Katie’s request, no viewing or visitation. Funeral Mass will be held 11AM Friday at All Saints Catholic Church, Boswell with Rev. Fr. Aron Maghsoudi, Celebrant. Committal Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Jennerstown.
