Emma Lou  Rauch (Spory)
RAUCH – Emma Lou (Spory), 85, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Somerset Pike, died April 6, 2014, at Laurel View. Born May 26, 1928, in Johnstown, daughter of Edgar R. and Emma (Kline) Spory. Preceded in death by parents; son, David; sisters, Violet Croyle-Spence, Betty Overbeck and Ethel Mayse; and daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth (Armstrong) Rauch. Survived by husband of 64 years, John W.; sons, Kim R., Moonlite Park Road, and James C., Somerset Pike; grandchildren, John and Mark Rauch; former daughter-in-law, Beth Belsterling, Ebensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1946 graduate of Boswell High School. She attended Indiana State Teacher’s College, Indiana, Pa., where she majored in art. Member of former Mount Zion Lutheran Church and Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, where she was active in the choir, Knotty Women quilting group, Christian Education Committee and served as church librarian. Emma Lou was very artistic and in her spare time she enjoyed painting and planning outdoor landscapes. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Traci Bowman, presiding. Interment, Mount Zion Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
