Winifred E.  MacDonald-Beener (Swope)
MacDONALD-BEENER – Winifred E. (Swope), 89, Country Manor, Jerome, formerly of Jennerstown, died Dec. 4, 2014, at Somerset Hospital. Born Oct. 28, 1925, daughter of William R. and Cora Ellen (Shroyer) Swope. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Robert F. Beener; and son, Robert L. Beener, both died in 1956; second husband, Malcolm A. “Scott” MacDonald, in 1987; son, Scott W. MacDonald, in 2012; an infant brother; and sisters, Cora Belle Gindlesperger, Genevieve Lint and Evelyn Lohr. Survived by children, Atty. James F. Beener, married to Judith Cooper; and Deborah E. (MacDonald), married to Kenneth L. Lohr, both of Jenner Township; grandchildren, Joshua Beener, married to Kara Johnson; Kathryn Beener; and W. Tanner MacDonald; great-granddaughter, Geonna; and daughter-in-law, Tracey A. (Reed) MacDonald, Jennerstown. A 1943 graduate of the former Boswell High School. Along with her husband, Scott MacDonald, founded the former Lincoln Mine & Mill Supply, Boswell, which later became Lincoln Supply, Somerset. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, Pastor Traci Bowman, officiating. Interment, St. James Cemetery. Memorials to the Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, Pa. 155501, would be appreciated. Arrangements in charge of Hoffman Funeral Home, Boswell.
