HICKEY – Evelyn C. (LaBute), 79, Davidsville, died peacefully at home March 27, 2015. Born Sept. 12, 1935, in Berlin, daughter of Daniel J. and Clara (Lepley) LaBute. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Miles H. Brant; daughter, Lori Ann Byer; brother, Edward LaBute and his wife, Margaret; brother-in-law, Vincent Hickey; sister-in-law, Grace Suhrie, and her husband, Robert; brother-in-law, Charles Hickey, and his wife, Joann; and nieces, Gail Ann Karns and Joyce Eileen Custer. Survived by husband of 61 years, George R. Hickey; son, Lynn, and wife, Cristy; son-in-law, Michael Byer; daughter, Sheila, married to Michael Meyers; daughter, Sheri Noll; grandchildren, Annie (Byer), married to Adam Smith; Mary (Byer), married to Zac Todaro; Nicholas, Joseph and Rebecca Meyers; Kaitlyn Hickey; and Andrew, Abby and Mollinda Noll; step-great- granddaughter, Savannah Winters; great-grandson, Preston Meyers; great-granddaughter, Madalynn Meyers; brother, Lee LaBute, and his wife, Marilyn; sisters, Nancy, married to Donald Custer, and Eileen, married to Bill Zeplin; sisters-in-law, Therese Karns and Eunice Beard; brothers- in-law, Tom Hickey, and his wife, Doris; Carl Hickey; and Dale Hickey, and his wife, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. As a charter member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Benscreek, she was active in the ladies guild, choir, school cafeteria and many other church and school functions. Evelyn was a former volunteer for the Girl Scouts and Ideal Fire Company ladies guild and Conemaugh Township Band Boosters. She loved traveling, especially to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Angelo J. Patti, celebrant. Committal, Richland Cemetery.
