Obituary for William J. "Bill" Carroll Jr.
CARROLL – William J. “Bill” Jr., 78, Boswell (Jenner Township), died suddenly July 1, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Oct. 2, 1936, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of William J. Sr. and Mildred P. (Brant) Carroll. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, Mark; brother, James E. “Butch” Carroll; and brothers-in-law, Terry J. Resh and William Lichtenfels. Survived by sisters, Kathryn Resh, Jenner Township; Della Lichtenfels, Pittsburgh; and Georgia, married to Vaughn Lichtenfels, Stow, Ohio; brother, Leroy L., married to Bonnie (Horner), Jennerstown; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; also special niece and caregiver, Cyndi Rose. Member of Mount Laurel United Church of Christ. Bill enjoyed making carts out of wood, listening to polka music and spending time with his sister, Kate, sitting on her swing. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. Monday until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, the Rev. Father Lenny Anderson, presiding.
