Matthew E. "Matty"  Siehl Jr.
SIEHL - Matthew E. "Matty" Jr., 85, Davidsville, died April 17, 2016, at his home. Born Aug. 16, 1930, in Johnstown, son of Matthew E., Sr. and Helen (Reese) Siehl. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 42 years, Patricia A. (Korns) Siehl on April 3, 2000; brother, James, and his wife, Lois (Cuppett) Siehl. Survived by daughter, Laura S. Halliday, San Francisco, Calif.; son, Matthew P. Siehl, Davidsville; grandchildren, Kyle, Kory and Britany Siehl; brother, Ronald Siehl, married to Doris (Leibfried), Davidsville; sister-in-law, Constance Korns, Silver Spring, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1949 graduate of Johnstown High School. A U.S. Navy veteran of Korean War. Retired comptroller of SCM Metal Products, Johnstown, where he was employed for over 40 years. Member of St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davidsville, and Windber Country Club. He was an avid golfer, Pittsburgh Steelers fan and sports enthusiast. Matty was also a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. A private family service will be held on Thursday. Inurnment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963.
