Obituary for Lois A. Bittner (Gombita)

BITTNER – Lois A. (Gombita), 81, Jennerstown, died July 17, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 1, 1935 in United, Westmoreland County. Daughter of John F. and Anna F. (Tomechko) Gombita. Preceded in death by parents, son James L. on January 21, 2005, brothers Joseph and James and grandson Ryan James Kinley. Survived by husband of 61 years Lloyd James “Jim” Bittner, Jr.; children Brian married to Marjorie (Keim), Stoystown; Barbara Bittner, New Smyrna, FL and Mark, Jennerstown; grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Jeffrey, Benjamin and Michael; great-grandchildren Margot and Ona; brother Richard, Riverside, CA; sisters-in-law Judy Gombita, Irwin and Patricia Gombita, Somerset and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. A 1953 graduate of J.B.J. Joint High School, Boswell. She enjoyed the Boswell Senior Citizen members and fellowship. Lois was a caregiver for her husband for many years. She also enjoyed caring for her family, tending her flowers, cooking, knitting and crocheting. At Lois’ request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11AM Wednesday at St. Peter’s Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel O’Neill, celebrant. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’ memory may be sent to St. Peter’s Catholic School, 433 W. Church St., Somerset, PA 15501.
