I'm so sorry for your loss and your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers. Helen, having just lost my brother after a long fight with illness I know how you are feeling and pray you and your parents find comfort in all the happy memories you have of Doug. There are no words that can be said to express the way we feel. Doug was my best, oldest, and dearest friend who luckily enough became my brother. Monica and Doug shared a love that comes once in a lifetime. Monica, Janet, Helen, Big Doug, Mom and Dad, I wish that I could be there to help console you but I know no words can take away your pain. I love you all, Doug will be in our hearts and minds always. I bet he's in heaven right now looking down at us all with a big chew in and saying what are you all crying about. He lived an amazing life and was loved by many people, I was lucky enough to be one of them. Monica, I love you more then words can say and I wish there was a way that I could take some of your pain away. I know how much you loved your husband and I know he was taken away too soon. You had 17 wonderful years full of love, laughs, and happiness. Hang on to the memories of that, focus on love he had for you and know that you will see him again. It's okay to cry, it's okay to morn, there are people here to lean on. Mom and Dad love you, and they have open arms for you. I love you, even Josh loves you. Nothing can make this easier and I'm not going to try to understand how you are feeling...but know that I am here, even if i'm not there. I love you big sister and I'm so so so very sorry that you have to feel this pain.
