Paul M. "Butch"  Horwat
HORWAT – Paul M. “Butch,” 77, Jerome, died July 25, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 27, 1938, in Jerome, son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Michlo) Horwat. Survived by wife of 43 years, Regina S. (Kowal); children, Natalie Horwat, Pittsburgh, and Michael P., married to Danielle (Storer) Horwat, Greensburg, and their dog, Marlee; sisters, Joan Kaltenbaugh, Ralpton; Annamarie, married to Larry Millinder, Soap Hollow; and Susan, married to Richard Restagno, West Mifflin; brother, Stephen, and wife, Alyce, Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Stanley Kowal, and wife, Diana, Ravenna, Ohio; and John Kowal, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1956 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Welder for former Penn Pocahontas Mining Co. and retired corrections officer for SCI, Cresson. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville, and Jerome Post 802 American Legion. Butch enjoyed fishing, golfing and going to casinos. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Church, the Rev. Father Martin Cingle, celebrant. Committal, Richland Mausoleum with military honors by Somerset County Honor Guard.
